📸 How I Capture Meaningful, Stress-Free Family Portraits

Family photos don’t have to be stiff, stressful, or overly posed. In fact, the sessions I love most, and the ones families treasure forever are the ones that feel like you.

At Photogenic Fox Photography, I take a relaxed, story-driven approach to family portraits. Whether we’re chasing golden hour on the beach, laughing through a park picnic, or just letting your little ones lead the way, I believe your photos should reflect your personalities, your connection, and the season of life you’re in.

Once I know more about you, we’ll choose a location that fits your family’s energy. From the tropical backdrops of Palm Beach County to more intimate home sessions, I scout and suggest spots that allow your story to unfold naturally.

And don’t worry — I’ll help guide you with styling tips and session prep, so you feel comfortable and confident from the moment you arrive.

It Starts with Connection

Before we even meet for your session, I will send a short but thoughtful family questionnaire. It helps me learn about who you are and what makes your crew unique; how you spend time together, and what kind of moments you never want to forget.  I want to understand who’s in your crew, what makes everyone smile (or roll their eyes 😄), and what type of vibe you’re going for—playful, cozy, energetic, or sentimental.

From there, we’ll work together to choose a location that fits your family. Maybe that’s a favorite beach you love to visit, your backyard garden, or a shaded trail with room for kids to roam. I’ll offer gentle direction, but I won’t force stiff poses or smiles. I believe in capturing connection over perfection.

Are you a beach-at-sunset kind of family? More at-home baking cookies on a Saturday morning? Or a little bit of both? This helps us decide not only the best location, but also the overall feeling we want your session to have. Learn more about me HERE -

No Pressure, Just Play

During your session, I keep things easygoing and flexible. We’ll get a few classic group shots (yes, I always aim for that one grandparent-pleaser photo!) but most of the time, I’m capturing the little, in-between moments — laughter, handholding, twirls, tickle fights, and all the chaos that makes your family yours.

I gently guide, never pose too rigidly. This isn’t about perfection. It’s about capturing your love, your bond, and the joy in being together.

Photographing Children? Let Them Be Themselves

Wondering how do you photograph children without meltdowns or bribery? Honestly—you let them play. Kids were made to move, explore, and express themselves, and that’s where the magic happens. I’ll gently guide them into the light, engage with them on their level, and give them space to just be kids.

Those little in-between moments—tiny handholding, belly laughs, or wild twirls—are the ones that end up being your favorite professional photography images.

Memories That Last -Family Photography Is Worth It?

After your session, you’ll receive a gallery filled with images that reflect the heart of your family — bold, colorful, and full of story. I also offer high-quality prints and albums, so your favorites don’t just live in a folder, but become part of your home. In a world full of phone snapshots and social media scrolls, why is photography important? Because it freezes moments you might otherwise forget. The way your toddler leans into you when they’re sleepy. The big-toothed grin your 6-year-old has before those baby teeth fall out. The quiet comfort between you and your partner after a long day. These are the kinds of memories that matter. And these are the moments I aim to preserve.
